Hear the Difference . . .
Conventional roofing products such as polycarbonate
are by their make up
poor at sound insulation. Even lightest rainfall
will create substantial noise
levels when falling onto a hollow plastic
roof system.
Made from two 4mm toughened glass leaves
& argonfilled, SMART GLASS
offers twice the soundproofing of more
standard roofing products such as
polycarbonate - that's twice the peace
and twice the quiet for you!
. . . latest Warm Edge Technology
Have you noticed condensation at the edges
of your windows, even though
you thought you had bought energy efficient
double glazing? That's because
no matter how thermally efficient the sealed
unit may be at the centre, the
metallic 'spacer bar' at the edge acts as
a bridge allowing the cold to pass
through - 80% of the energy lost through a
window occurs at the edge of the
glass for this very reason.
Not with SMART GLASS
- with new 'Warm Edge Technology' the spacer
bar we use is up to 950 times less conductive
than standard aluminium bar,
increasing internal temperature, saving energy
and virtually
eliminating condensation.
. . and don't forget your panels!
Whilst the largest glazed area of your new
conservatory is of course the roof,
the glazing in the side panels can also contribute
highly to the overall
success of the installation. For locations
of extreme exposure to the
elements, SMART GLASS
can be used in the panels of your conservatory
too, giving the same temperature control and
self cleaning effect all-round
whatever the weather!
For more standard use however, SMART GLASS
Lite is
a complementary
panel glass formulated to work in harmony
with your new roof. With a bright
fresh look as opposed to the yellow tinge
some Low E products can give,
SMART GLASS
Lite is
not only a perfect colour match, but is also
some
20% better at heat retention than the leading
brand's.
And finally, a conservatory roof that even
cleans itself !!
YES, you did read that right ! Using
a new generation of self cleaning
glasses, SMART GLASS,
is able to offer the ultimate in maintenance
free technology.
New SMART GLASS
comes with an invisible 'dual action' coating
to it's
external face which firstly uses the ultraviolet
energy in ordinary daylight to
breakdown organic dirt. Secondly, when wet,
rather than forming droplets
that stick to the glass surface, water 'sheets'
down the glass literally
carrying the dirt away with it.
But does it really work ? Well, self cleaning
glass uses, daylight and water
to power its chemical and physical reaction,
the sun providing the daylight
and the rain providing the water (we are in
the UK after all).
Given these conditions yes, it really does
work !
What's more every SMART GLASS
unit leaves the factory with a protective
film wrap to safeguard against handling damage
and the inevitable
splashes of paint or plaster during installation.
So once the finishing touches are all done,
the protective film is simply
removed and you'll take a instant shine to
your beautiful new
conservatory roof.

Solar Factor = Total
transmittance of radiant heat through the
unit, as a percentage.
The lower the solar factor, the cooler and
more comfortable the room will be during
the summer months.
Light Transmission =
Percentage of viable light able to pass through
the unit.
The lower light transmission, the lower the
glare within the room.
U-Value = Heat transmitted
throught bthe unit, measured in Watts per
m2 per Kelvin.
The lower the U-Value, the lower the heat
loss & the warmer the room will be in
winter.
dBa = Decibel reduction
achieved across the roof from external to
internal.
The higher the dBa the higher the sound insulation.
